Kismayo, Somalia – A professional capacity-building training program for journalists working across Jubaland has officially concluded in Kismayo, marking another important step toward strengthening media professionalism and responsible journalism in the region.
The training, led by journalist and social affairs analyst Hodan Omer Buh, brought together media professionals from various news organizations. The program focused on enhancing participants’ skills in ethical journalism, fact-checking, balanced reporting, media professionalism, and responsible public communication.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, Hodan Omer Buh commended the participants for their commitment and active engagement throughout the training. She encouraged them to apply the knowledge and practical skills they had gained in their daily reporting, emphasizing the importance of producing accurate, balanced, and credible information that serves the public interest.
She also highlighted the critical role journalists play in promoting transparency, informing communities, and strengthening public trust through responsible and ethical reporting.
