An international conference focusing on media development and the role of independent journalism in the Horn of Africa was held in Nairobi, Kenya. The event was attended by the Director General of SBC Somali TV, Mr. Mohamed Dek Abdalla, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Media Association of Puntland (MAP).
The conference brought together media leaders from across Africa, journalists’ associations, and international organizations. Discussions focused on strengthening press freedom, improving the quality of journalism, and enhancing training opportunities for media professionals.
During the conference, Mr. Mohamed Dek Abdalla delivered an important speech highlighting the current state of Somali media and the critical role independent media plays in promoting social development and good governance.
The Director General of SBC Somali TV also held separate meetings with several African media executives to discuss cooperation in media training programs and the exchange of professional experience.
